Which other event than Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille to welcome the finale stage of the Lexus UX European Art Car contest? With artists working directly on the bodywork of cars, the contest perfectly fits with the theme of the day.

Each edition of Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille commemorates the work of History’s greatest coachbuilders. These experts in their own domain have elevated their creations to such a level of excellence that they work was officially inscribed among the arts & crafts trade in 2003. Before that, starting from the 1970s, others had had the idea of associating artists and bodywork by entrusting the decoration of racing cars to famous painters such as Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein and even Andy Warhol.

This year at Chantilly, the manufacturer Lexus will renew with this great tradition known as “art cars”. A collective of artists representing France will be working on the UX 250h, a Lexus model common to all artists. The spectators and visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the best creation. The other candidates for this finale were selected previously in different European countries. Each project is as different and original as the next, making for a splendid exhibition that will be sure to surprise the public – reflected by the fluorescents stems representing vectors by Ana Soler Baena or the blue and red organic mesh of Antoñito and Manolín.
